The light is on!
After an 11-year renovation, the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp is reopening.
The design by KAAN architects bathes the museum and its magnificent collections in pleasant natural light.
With passion, the experts at Forzon set to work on that design to build more than 20 skylights on the existing roof structures. This with an eye for the aesthetic story told in the rest of the roof and a perfect fit with the new copper roof.
Our solution arose from a detailed study of the old structures with an eye for maximum light. The aluminium structure was completely renewed, and the historical glass was replaced with 100% clear glazing.
We look back with pride on this beautiful project that offers visiting art lovers a home for meeting Flemish Primitives, Modern Masters and like-minded people in a historical setting.
